A Post to Post About
Alright. Here is my dirty, little gem to share from my and Troy's photo adventure. This is a very controversial image to me. I just can't decide if I like it. But I do. I'm pretty sure. It makes a statement. "One post stands out among the rest like a beacon of light, but a post."

this is awesome dave. i think it could have been a bit distracting had there been blue water and clouds and people and what not in the periphery, but over exposure really lends an isolation and focus to the image.
ReplyDeleteThe symmetry is what's so sweet here. It's almost a mirror image left-right, even down to the rocks on the sand. I also like how the piers are floating as if protruding off a cliff.
ReplyDeleteA basic object captured with a fresh perspective & vision is so what's attractive. Great work!
Now add a engaged couple in dark cloths and you just got your first pay check shooting an engagement session. I can see a bright future for you in photography my friend.
ReplyDeleteI really like the blown out features. The almost mirror like presence.
ReplyDeleteI was ther when he shot this and to see this instead of what my eyes exposed is neat.. I love the proccessing, although I saw the raw and Dave you almost nailed it straight out of the camera ! teach me...
dope indeed! dittos on all the above comments. i'm curious how it would look with the blacks crushed a wee bit or maybe a magicglasses action.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the great comments. Your insight has affirmed a lot of the reasons why I felt this image worked. Thanks!
